His obituary was published on 31 January 1901 in Maxwell, Story, Iowa, United States.
Jonathan See was born in Kanawha county, Virginia, December 22, 1918, and died at his home in Iowa Center, Iowa January 23, 1901, aged eighty-two years, one month and one day.

In 1849 he was married to Margaret Kelley in the state of Illinois. The same year they came to Iowa to reside. In 1856 he suffered the loss of his companion. Two children were born to them, Mrs. Zina Wamer, of Great Falls, Montana, and Mrs. Geo. Bryant, of McCallsburg, Iowa.

In 1864 he was married to Mary Dawson, who survives his death and mourns his loss. Twelve children were born to them, ten of whom are living, some in Grinnell, Iowa, and the remainder in Iowa Center. With the exception of eight years spent in Missouri, he had lived in Iowa since 1849, a period of fifty-two years. The services were held in Bethel church, Iowa Center, January 24th, by Rev. Pickford and interment made in the cemetery at the above place.

BURNED TO DEATH IN A TRAILER FIRE

JOSHUA BRYANT SEE, 73, died early Tuesday of burns suffered when his trailer home at Moville burned after an oil stove evidently exploded.

Dr. Thomas L. Coriden, Woodbury county
coroner, said death was caused by extensive third degree burns.

Mr. See was living in the trailer with a son, James, about 40, according to investigating officials. Another son, Oliver J., lives in a small house adjoining the trailer.

The victim's son escaped with minor burns when the stove exploded about 12:30 a.m.

Mr. See had resided many years in Sterling, Colo.. and had been in Moville several months.

The trailer was destroyed but volunteer firemen were able to keep the fire from destroying the adjoining buildings, officers said.

Mr. See was born September 11, 1882. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Hap Staman of Crawford, Neb.
