  The many beautiful floral offerings were cared for by Mrs. Ray Lock and Mrs. Marion Shickell.
  
  Mrs. John W. Eatwell Jr., accompanied by Mrs. Norman C. Dobson, sand "No Night There." Organ music was played at the opening and closing of the service.
  
  The casket bearers were Oscar Adderson, R. J. Burnett, Alvah Davis, Francis Donaldson, Ray Lock, Martin Malmanger, Marion Shickell and Lamont Wilson.

  James Warren Bryant, only son of George and Margaret Bryant was born on a farm in Richland township near Fernald on March 27, 1888, and passed away at the Story County hospital in Nevada at 7 a.m. September 11, 1952, at the age of 64 years, five months and 17 days, after a short illness.
  
  He spent his boyhood days on the farm, attended the country school and at the age of 17 years he moved with his parents to Nevada, where he lived three years.
  
  On Dec. 23, 1908, he was married to Bertha Fry and they moved on the home farm six miles north of Nevada where they lived continuously for 44 years.
  
  For the past seven years, Mr. and Mrs. Bryant have been spending their winters in McAllen, Texas, where they made many friends.
  
  He was a member of Memorial Lutheran church and the I.O.O.F. Lodge of Nevada.
  
  Mr. Bryant was a man of many sterling qualities. He was an industrious farmer and was always ready to lend a helping hand where ever needed. Of a quiet nature, he loved his home, and his friends were numbered by his acquaintances.
  
  He leaves to mourn his sudden passing his wife, Bertha, and cousins, Byron Bryant, Louie Marshall, Stella French and Leota Fry, all of Nevada and few other more distant relatives besides his many friends.

  Among relatives from out of town in attendance at the funeral were Mervin Fry, Santa Cruz, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Verne Quam and Mr. and Mrs. Carmen Fry of Burlington, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Fry of Ames, W. L. Jackson of Belle Plaine, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Engel of Hawkeye, Mr. and Mrs. Will Poole, Mr. and Mrs. M. Maliet and Mrs. Rose Belsher with many other from Des Moines, Colo, McCallsburg, Roland and Fernald.¹
