Together they had three children, Melvin Leroy Wardlow Jr., William Joseph Wardlow and Alicia Marie Wardlow. He worked at Fisher Goldstar in Laurens for many years before going to work at Pengo, where he made many friends.
  
  Melvin is survived by his wife: Judy; sons: Melvin Jr. and William, all of Havelock; daughter: Alicia Wardlow of Laurens; grandchildren: Tristan Chase and Trinity Wardlow, Cameron and Candice Long, Abegail and Layla Anderson; sister: Sherry Terry; brothers: Willie and Chester Squires.

  Carol Terry, 52, of Shenandoah, passed away in Sidney on July 8, 2009.
  
  Carol was born to Mahlon (Jr.) and Marie Squires on December 19, 1956 in Clarinda. She had a twin brother, Gerald, who precedes her in death.
  
  Carol wed David Terry in April 28, 1974. The couple had two children, Justin Terry and Joshua Terry.
  
  Carol was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend to all who knew her. She will be missed greatly to all who knew and loved her.
  
  Carol is survived by her son Justin and his wife Laura Terry of Omaha and her second son, Joshua Terry of Kansas City, Mo.
  
  Carol leaves behind six of her siblings, a brother Benny and his wife Beverly Wardlow, of Red Oak; a sister, Verna Hoover of Havelock, Iowa; a brother, Melvin Wardlow of Havelock, Iowa; two brothers, William Squires and Chester and his wife Sherry Squires of Shenandoah; a sister, Cheryl and her husband Kim Terry of Shenandoah; and many nieces and nephews.
  
  Her parents, Marie and Mahlon Jr.; a sister, Fanny Strange, her twin brother, Gerald Squires and a second sister, Alice kalkas, precede Carol in death.
  
  Those of us who knew Carol best will always cherish the silent testimony that she gave to us all regarding her journey from this life to her eternal life. She leaves us to admire the strength and courage she carried within herself to walk the rough road that was her life. Carol hung on to the promises of God. These were her lifeline. They would get her home, she knew this to be true, and it was. We rest in the promise that she is now and forever where she chose to be, with God and family. We willmiss you always Carol, but rejoice with you that you are where you are meant to be.
  
  Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. on July 11, 2009 at Walker-Merrick Funeral Home with inurnment at Oak Grove Cemetery in Clarinda.²

William Douglas "Will" Squires was born November 30, 1954 in Clarinda, Iowa, the son of Mahlon and Marie (Loughry) Squires. He passed away on Wednesday evening, April 27, 2016 at his home in Shenandoah, Iowa at the age of 61 years, 4 months and 28 days.
  
  Will grew up in Clarinda and graduated from Clarinda High School. Following high school he served his counry in the United States Marine Corps. Will never married but had his dogs and mani nieces and nephews that kept him busy over the years. He worked several jobs in the Shenandoah area, most recently he worked for Earl May Seed & Nursery. He enjoyed fishing and taking his dog for runs. He was also a history buff and enjoyed learning about his family's history. His true love was his family.
  
  Will was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents and great grandparents; seven of his siblings, Fanny Strange, Benny Wardlow, Melvin Wardlow, Verna Hoover, Alice Kalkas, Carol Terry and Gerald Squires.
  
  Survivors include his sister, Cheryl Terry and her husband Kim of Shenandoah, Iowa; his brother, Chester Squires and his wife Sherry of Shenandoah, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Beverly Wardlow ofBedford, Iowa, Judy Wardlow of Havelock, Iowa; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
  
  A Celebration of Life was held on April 30, 2016 at the Walker-Merrick Funeral Home in Clarinda. His final resting place is the Oak Grove Cemetery in Clarinda, Iowa.

The 1856 Iowa State Census listed her as 7, but this would have been after her mother's death and the children were farmed out so doubt the reporter was the best source of information.^1,2,3
