Richard R. Hoover - age 65, of Havelock, passed away Monday, September 15, 2014, at the Pocahontas Community Hospital in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Richard Raymond Hoover was born June 20, 1949, in Jefferson, Iowa. He was the son of Kenneth and Dorothy (Anderson) Hoover. He lived in Scranton until 1957, when his parents moved to Rutland. He attended Humboldt Schools. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1969, where he served as a medic until his discharge in 1971. In 1983, Richard married Verna Mae Wardlow. From this union five children were born. Richard loved anything to do with the outdoors and his family. Richard worked at various jobs over the years, including IIH, Positech and Blue Ox. In 2002, Richard and Verna were divorced, but they remained best of friends. Richard then moved in with Tina Jehle and has remained with her ever since.

Throughout his life he tried to be the best at whatever he set his mind to, whether it be a lover, brother, son, grandfather, father or friend.

Survivors include his girlfriend, Tina Jehle of Havelock; children, Doug (Deb) Mutchler of Havelock, Melissa (Jason) Mutchler of Plover, Amanda (Pat) Tripp, Samantha (Randy) Dady and Cory (Kim) Hoover all of Havelock; sisters, Jane (Doug) Coltvet of Rutland, Karen (Gene) Pedersen of Humboldt, Kay (Ron) Sandvig of Atlantic and Dawn Blair of Rockport, TX; a brother, David Hoover of Kelly; various grandchildren, nieces & nephews and two great-grandsons and his dog, Skip.

He is preceded in death by his parents, ex-wife, Verna Hoover, grandson, Andrew and many aunts & uncles.

Mr. See, who died Wednesday at his home, was born in Missouri and had been in Des Moines 61 years. A retired farmer, he was a member of the Galilee Christian assembly.

Surviving are a stepdaughter, Mrs. Mary Bower of Coon Rapids, a sister, Mrs. Anna Alexander, and five brothers, Silas, Bert, Frank, and Akalias, all of Des Moines, and John of West Des Moines.

His obituary was published on 7 May 1971 in Des Moines, Polk, Iowa, United States. Roy C. Oldex, 61, of 143 S.E. Thirty-fourth St. died of cirrhosis of the liver Thursday at Des Moines General Hospital.

A Knoxville, Neb., native, Mr. Oldes lived in Des Moines since 1923. He was retired.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Hamilton's Funeral Home, with burial in Laurel Hill Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Tully; two sons, Roy, jr., and Arthur L., and a brother, Harold, all of Des Moines, and three grandchildren.
