  Shock Over Illness of Father Kills Daughter
  
  WHEN Clara M. Yates, 1429 Bluff street, learned yesterday that her aged father, Franklin Rouse, was fatally ill of pneumonia, she died of a broken heart. Physicians who examined her explained that nothing but grief or shock could have caused the death. Six hours after her death Mr. Rouse died. Since the demise of Mrs. Rouse, most of Mrs. Yates' interests have centered around her father, who was a veteran of the civil war. Mrs. Yates was 52 years old and the mother of five children and two step-children. Besides these she is survived by her husband. Mr. Rouse was 80 years old and had been a resident of Des Moines for thirty-five years. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon for the two who were never separated in life but will be in death. For the father will be buried in Woodland cemetery and the daughter in Glendale.¹⁸

Sevices for both will he held at the same hour at the home at 1429 Bluff street. Burial of the father will be made in the Woodland cemetery and Mrs. Yates will be buried In the Glendale cemetery.¹⁹
