WATERLOO — Roy Milton "Milt" Hennick, 81, formerly of Maxwell and Waterloo, died Saturday, June 8 in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 11, 1931, son of Roy Winfred Hennick and Dorothy Lavone Warrell of Maxwell. He married Wilma Naomi Thornton in Des Moines on May 2, 1953, and they divorced in 1977. He attended Ellsworth Community College. Mr. Hennick started his banking career at the Iowa Des Moines National Bank. He moved to Waterloo in 1960 when he became the auditor of the National Bank of Waterloo. He was later promoted to senior vice president and assisted in launching "Bank Easy", the first line ATM's in Iowa. He was later named as branch manager of the National Bank in Indianola, and then moved to Maxwell upon his retirement. In 1997 he moved to Las Vegas. Survived by: his daughter, Denise (Bob) Dunn of Waterloo; two sons, Mark of Waterloo and Mike (Denise) of Pleasant Hill; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Linda (Perry) Robertson of Maxwell and Norma Hollander of Nevada; many nieces and nephews; his long-time companion, Joyce Robertson of Las Vegas, her children, Tammi Soto, Michelle Lee and William Angellotti, five stepgrandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: four brothers, Richard Bell, Norman, Robert and Marion Hennick; and an infant sister, Susan.
  Celebration of life service: will be held after graveside services being arranged in Maxwell. Per his wishes, he was cremated. Memorials: may be directed to the family. Milt's humor and small town friendliness were lifelong assets in forming relationships at work and in life. His smile and his friendliness to others will be greatly missed.
