  Funeral Services Held Here Tuesday for Mrs. Clara Pierson.
  
  Mrs. Clara Nevada Pierson, aged 79 and widow of the late John Pierson, passed away about noon Saturday.
  
  Mrs. Pierson died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Leona Lint, in the Stanton community where she had resided the past three weeks. Prior to that time she had lived at Red Oak with her son, Richard Pierson. The deceased, some years ago lived southwest of Griswold in Waveland township.
  
  Mrs. Pierson was born at Griswold August 7, 1887, being the daughter of the late Harvey M. and Clara Thornton Chubick. At her passing she had attained the age of 79 years, 9 months and 24 days. The deceased grew to womanhood in this locality and was united in marriage to John Pierson who preceded her in death many years ago. Since that time she has lived in this locality with children.
  
  Left to mourn her passing are seven children. They are: Mervin Chubick of Hastings, Lucy Butcher of Avoca, Elsie McCuen of Nodaway, Edgar Pierson of Garden Grove, Lester Pierson of Glenwood, Richard Pierson of Red Oak, and Leona Lint of Stanton. Also surviving are three step-children: Sidney Pierson of Lewis, Robert Pierson and Josie Garrison of Omaha; 37 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren.
  
  Funeral services were held this Tuesday afternoon from the Wagler funeral home in this city. Rev. N. E. Saikaly, pastor of the Presbyterian church at Villisca, officiated. The music was by Boyd Carlton, accompanied by Mrs. H. P. Carlton. The casket bearers were grandsons of the deceased. Interment was made on the family lot in the Whipple cemetery, northwest of Griswold.^6,5
