• Obituary: His obituary was published on 17 September 1953 in Nebraska, United StatesBGO. Cyrus Saylor Walker, son of Jesse and Adelaid Walker, was born May 12, 1878, on a farm four miles west of Geneva. He was one of a family of 12 children. He attended school in District 47 and the Geneva city school.
  He was united in marriage to Martha Loghry, April 13, 1904. To this union were born five children, two sons and three daughters. He spent the greatest share of his life living on the farm where he was born.
  He and his wife retired from the farm and moved to Geneva in 1947. Two years later he suffered a stroke and became bedfast. For three and one-half years he was a very patient sufferer. He entered the Smith Nursing Home at Clay Center August 3, and was cared for there until his death.
  Mr. Walker was preceded in death only 12 days by his wife. A daughter, Pearl, Mrs. Harold McDonald, passed away in March of this year. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Russell Walker and Jesse Walker.
  He is survived by two daughters, Carman, Mrs. George Schropfer of Geneva, and Dorothy, Mrs. Ray Serk of Edgar, two sons, Ray of Otis, Col., and Francis of Geneva, and 11 grandchildren, also three brothers, Charles of Lincoln, Jerome of Arcadia and Frank of Lincoln, four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Marr of Battle Creek, Mrs. Ann Dowis of Geneva, Mrs. Blanche Merryman of Shickley and Mrs. Maude McPeck of Geneva.
  Services were held at the Hrubesky-Farmer funeral home Thursday at 2 p. m. the Rev. Maude V. Mann officiated. The ministry of music was by Mrs. Jerry Pickerill and Mrs. Evalyn Foster. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
  The Nebraska Signal Sept 17 1953.³
