• Birth: Morten Christian Lindegaard Pedersen was born on 15 December 1815 in Bullerup, Fyns Amt, DenmarkBGO.²
• Marriage: He and Maren Sorensdaughter were married on 7 November 1837 in Ellinge Parish, Vindinge District, Svendborg County, DenmarkBG, The marriage took place in the church of Ellinge. (Ellinge is four parishes south of Agedrup.) After the marriage Maren and Marie moved to Bullerup from Paarup.^2,3
• Marriage: He and Karen Hansdatter were married on 15 October 1852 in Føvling, Ribe Amt, DenmarkBGO, She was a widow and had a son, Peder Ebbesen Pedersen, age 1, from her first marriage.²
• Marriage: He and Ane Iversen were married on 31 May 1876 in Grimstrup Church, DenmarkBG, Ane was a widower.²
• Death: He died on 3 June 1894, at age 78.

• Note: Morten worked on his grandfather's farm at Bullerup. It appears that they were quite close because his grandfather, in a will dated 9 September 1837, bequeathed the farm to his grandson. Morten was then about to raise a family of his own. On November 4th, he married and he is listed in the church records as "gaardmand og ungkarl" which translates to "farmer and bachelor." We can assume from this that he had taken over the farm by then and was no longer a hired hand but a farmer.
  
  Family lore has it that Morten participated in the 1848-50 war with Prussia as a dragoon, but no proof has been found. In any case, by 1850 he was back at Fovling according to the census.
  
  In 1878 part of the farmland was parceled out and a new house/farm was built next to the old one. Into this new farmhouse moved Jens Nielsen, Ane Kirstine and their children as neighbors to Morten. For the old man this must have been a good period in his life with his eldest daughter and seven grandchildren next door.
  
  Around 1881, Jens Nielsen sold his farm and bought and moved his entire family to Morten's farm where he tried to make a living out of it.
  
  In 1885 the farm was taken over by Morten's youngest son Peder Christian Lindegaard Mortensen (Preben's great-grandfather) and his wife Dorthea Madsen. Morten Christian and Ane continued to live on the farm as pensioners.²
• Baptism: He was baptized on 15 December 1815 in Bullerup, Fyns Amt, DenmarkBGO.²
• Residence: He had a residence in September 1847 in Stenderup, Fovling, DenmarkBG. It is unknown the reason for the move, but it may have something to do with the fact that land and property was very cheap in West Jutland in those days, and the possibilities of acquiring more land was good. Whatever the reason, this was a dramatic decision in the history of the Lindegaard family who now moved away from the Island of Funen, which had been their home for centuries. Morten Christian sold the farm at Bullerup, bought a farm at Stenderup near Fovling and moved in September 1847.²
• Residence: He had a residence in 1862 in Hjortkaer, DenmarkBG. The family moved to Hjortkaer near Esbjert in March 1862 and took over the farm which ever since has been known as "Hjemmet" -- "the Home" to Mortens descendants. The last Lindegaard there, Mary Lindegaard Sandberg, died in 2006, and the farm was sold in 2008. The exact age of the farm is unclear, but it is listed in 1709. However, it is older than that, and we assume it was built sometime in the 1600s, maybe earlier. The village Hjorkaer is first mentioned in 1445.²
