  Eileen Louise Hohenstein, 78, of Des Moines, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 after a brief illness. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Parkway, West Des Moines, Iowa. Family will green friends for one hour prior to the service. A visitation will be held at Wintz Funeral Home in Yankton, SD at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017, before leaving for the cemetery at 2 p.m. A graveside service will follow at the Danish Lutheran Cemetery in Gayville,SD.
  
  A devoted mother, Eileen is survived by her three children: Todd Forney and Maureen Beytagh of Powell,Ohio, Craig and Barbara Forney of Ames, Iowa, and John and Denise Forney of West Des Moines, Iowa. She was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren.
