John Boykin¹

• Death: John Boykin died between 27 May 1728 and 23 February 1729.¹

• Story:
  According to the will of Edward Boykin I, John received his father's plantation "whereon I now live and all land thereto belonging being five hundred and thirty acres, to my said son and his heirs forever." John, however, died intestate, soon after his father as an inventory of his estate, appraised by Frances Williamson, John Dunkley and Edward Harris, was recorded 23 Feb 1729. Final account of his estate was presented by his brother Edward Boykin, Jr., 27 March 1730-31. The printed records did not show his children, but, according to "Historical Southern Families, Volume III," a search of Isle of Wight deeds should show who deeded his land. The children of his brothers Edward, William and Thomas have been ascertained. John is said to have married Ann Williamson, but there is no proof. He left descendants in Isle of Wight. Francis Boykin of Northampton, North Carolina, is very probably his son, as he was not a son of any other of the children of Edward Boykin.¹
