Charles was a Vietnam veteran and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.

    He is survived by his companion, Mary Barrington; six children, Shelly Wilkinson, Carla Sorensen, Missy Barr, Gary Sorensen, Stormy Wright and Sharla Hall; 16 grandchildren, Beth, Nicole, Jeffrey, Jessica, Dawn, Bradey, Molly, Filey, Gregory, Stephanie, Gary Jr., Amber, Shane, Lidia, Justin and Dustin; one great-grandchild, Jasmine Southern and one expected great-grandchild; four sons-in-law, Preston, Kevin, Terry and John; and one daughter-in-law, Brenda. He was preceded in death by his mother, Willie Dee Moonie.3
