• Birth: John Chiles was born before 1671 in Colony of Virginia, Colonial AmericaBG, Was probably born at James Citty. He was, apparently, the only son of Walter Chiles II and his wife Mary Page, as he was the only one mentioned in the will of his grandfather, Colonel John page.^1,2
• Marriage: He and Mary were married before 29 September 1693 John was married by 29 Sep 1693, as he and his wife, Mary turned over his interest in a lease to land to Sir Edmond Andros, on that date. He was further identified as the lessee, along with Susanna Chiles. The maiden name of his wife is unknown but is believed she might have been the daughter of William Boucher.^3,3

• Note: Henry Chiles was the oldest son of Micajah and Mary Chiles. He must have been born not very long before 1730, and possibly, in the newly formed Caroline County. He married Elizabeth Woolfolk. Henry Chiles of Lunenburg County has been identified as the son of Mary and Micajah, both from his will (1756), in which he named his grandmother Mary Howle, and from a later court record (1771).
  
  Henry and Elizabeth had daughters, Elizabeth and Mary. Mary was born after Henry's death. Henry died a young man, for his will was recorded 6 Jul 1756.¹
