    Our beloved mom, Alvina Margaret Larson – born on a farm near Makoti, North Dakota on November 6, 1918 – passed away on September 5, 2016 in Prescott, Arizona after a brief illness. She was the fifth child of ten siblings, was raised on her family farm, and was schooled to the eighth grade at a one room school house – poetry being her favorite subject. And mom could still recite her favorite poems until she passed!

    Alvina moved with her husband, Gilbert (died 1990), and their three children from North Dakota to Riverside, California in the late 1940s, and then came to Prescott, Arizona in 1993.

    She loved to fish and camp with her husband in the High Sierra's each summer. She was an excellent seamstress; mom really enjoyed making clothes and crazy quilts, of which she bestowed at least one to all her kids and grandkids. Alvina was always the farmer: her yard was planted with an abundance of flowers, her kitchen filled with fresh baked aromas – cinnamon rolls and Ukrainian delights, and she was forever devoted to her family. During her Prescott years, she could be found with certainty Friday nights at the Adult Center dancing waltzes with one of her many beaus!

    Alvina is survived by her four children, Jerry (Joan) Larson, Dennis (Sharry) Larson, Carolyn (Jerry died 2016) Stoddard, and Alanna (David) Larson; nine grandchildren (six spouses); nineteen and one half great-grandchildren (three spouses); and seven great-great grandchildren.

    An inurnment service will be held November 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., at Olivewood Memorial Park in Riverside, California.
