    Harlow "Doc" Alvin Loghry, 86, of Paul, died 31 Aug 1997 at the Minidoka Memorial Hospital in Rupert.

    He was born 28 Mar 1911 in Burwell, Neb., the son of Tom and Viola Loghry, Doc grew up on the family farm in Nebraska, and in 1934, he moved to Riverton, Wyo. He homesteaded in Paradise Valley, northwest of Riverton from 1934 to 1955 where he helped raise two children with his first wife, Nina. Along with working the family farm, Doc worked for A.D. Martin Lumber and Payne Oil Co.

    Doc enjoyed country and fiddle music and was an excellent dancer, winning his share of dance contests. Along with farming, he managed the Paradise Valley Community Hall where local dances were held. He called many square dances during these years.

    In 1953, he married Mabel D. Wright of Riverton. They moved to Paul in 1955, where they ran a successful farm and dairy business until their retirement in 1984. They stayed at the farm until his death. He led a god life doing what he loved most, which was farming.

    Survivors include his wife, Mabel of Paul; son Hal Loghry of Casper, Wyo.; daughter, Donna Loghry, also of Casper; grandchildren, Gary Loghry, Kelly Thorson and Erin Loghry, all of Casper; great-grandchildren, Chelcie, Chloe and Garrett Thorson; stepchildren .... Siblings include brother, Gerald of Arizona; sisters, Lillian McCoy of Wyoming and Clara Para of Washington; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.... Cremation has been held....2

    Bill R. Loghry of Castroville died Friday at Silas B. Hays Army Community Hospital at Fort Ord after a lengthy illness. He was 60.

    A native of Burwell, Neb., Mr. Loghry lived in Salinas for 25 years. He retired with the rank of master sergeant from the U.S. Army in 1978, after 20 years of service, and then worked for seven years as a heavy equipment operator at the Naval Post Graduate School. He was a veteran of Vietnam, a member of First Baptist Church of Castroville; a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter No. 101, Salinas; a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Marina and a member of the American Legion Post of Marina.

    Mr. Loghry is survived by his wife, Patricia Rogers Loghry of Castroville; one daughter, Gail Marie Loghry of San Jose; one step-daughter, Elizabeth Rogers of Monterey; three sisters, Gertrude Partridge and Lillian McCoy, both of Riverton, Wyo., and Clara Para of Othello, Wash.; two brothers, Gerald H. Loghry of Casa Grande, Ariz., and Harlow A. Loghry of Paul, Idaho; numerous nieces and nephews, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

    Friends may call at the Healey Mortuary. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary chapel. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Queen of Heaven Cemetery.2
