Funeral services for Lettie B. Stanley 85, of Nowata who died Wednesday July 26, 2000 at her home in Nowata were at the Graveside at Martin Cemetery in the Twin Bridges Community on Saturday, July 29 with Brother Lawrence Green officiating. Interment followed at Martin Cemetery under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Service of Nowata.

Lettie was born on January 5, 1915 at Gravette, Arkansas to William and Lydia Friend Loghry. She moved to Bernice at an early age and then to Centralia where she grew up and received her education in the Centralia School. Lettie Loghry and Howard Eugene Stanley were married on September 14, 1935 at Nowata. They remained in the Centralia area until she moved to Nowata in the fall of 1992. Mrs. Stanley was a member of the Twin Bridges Home Extension Club and attended the Happy Hill Church of God (Commonly known as Independent Holiness People) when she could. She enjoyed gardening, canning and was an excellent seamstress. She had worked in the sewing factories at Chelsea and Nowata.

Survivors include a daughter, Yvonne Stanley of Nowata; two granddaughters: Lori Harris Manes of Bartlesville and Lesa Reich of Vinita and two great grandsons: Scot and David Harris both of Bartlesville as well as a brother, Herby Loghry and his wife, Faye of Woodward, three sisters: Drexel Dunshee, Lilliam Loghry and Donna Ball all of Woodward; also three sisters-in-law: Billie Loghry of Woodward, Gladys Loghry of Wichita, Kansas and Opal Loghry of Chicago area, Illinois.

Mrs. Stanley was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Eugene Stanely on November 20, 1979, by her parents and four brothers: Lloyd, Delmer, Everett and Preston Loghry.¹
